Mars 3D Space Tour 1.1

Mars 3D Space Tour, an application offered by FP Software Lab, is nothing more than a screensaver for the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system. If you get this screensaver and install it on your PC, when the computer goes idle, the screensaver will kick in and display good looking imagery of Mars on your desktop.

The screensaver displays a photo-realistic and astronomically accurate 3D animation of Mars as viewed from outer space. You can make believe you are a spaceman looking at Mars as your space craft orbits the red planet. The screensaver caters to your fantasy as it displays an astronomically accurate 3D-simulated orbital flight around Mars and flyby views of Mars.

Download – the download weighs in at 1.3MB, which is quite lightweight. At such a lightweight download size, it will only take a moment to get Mars 3D Space Tour off the web and onto your computer, even if you have to live with a less than spectacular internet connection. To my mind, it’s always nice when you don’t have to wait a long time for a download to complete.
Supported OS - tested Mars 3D Space Tour on a Windows XP and on a Windows 7-powered PC and it seemed to work just fine.
Limitations – if you were hoping to not part with your hard earned money to get this application, you are out of luck. Mars 3D Space Tour is not freeware; it is only free to try. Soon after the screensaver launches, a floating window that tells you to register the screensaver appears and, well, floats around. I found this nag screen to be truly annoying. At roughly $16 to register, I don’t know if you will be willing to part with this kind of cash for a screensaver – a good looking one though.
